Dara and Bella.W writing

Here is me and Bella.W writing piece, what i learnt from this was the difference between Bella and I's working as we had different ideas that contributed to this story, but overall we are both happy with how it turned out. My favourite part about our writing is when Chloe falls in the lambs tails. I think Bella and I both work really well together and both contributed a lot, what I found difficult was not knowing what your partners ideas were for the story. But overall I really enjoyed this

Reporting inappropriate behaviour

Today me and Noah completed a drawing on how to report inappropriate behaviour on Instagram. New learning for me was to delete the post once sending it to an adult, this was new learning for me as before I would've just kept the image. I enjoyed doing this task, and I think me and Noah communicated really well through technology. 

Netiquette

Today I worked with Brendan on the Do's and Don'ts while emailing. New learning for me was finding out what netiquette is. I enjoyed working with someone new and seeing how other people work. I found ti quite easy to think of do's and don'ts while emailing.

Self defence course

This morning LH1s year 8 girls took a self defence, in this I wanted to learn to protect myself when encountering a situation that is needed, we covered the basics of a tough stance and to overtake your fear with anger. We learnt 7 kicks and performed them on partners (softly) I was partnered with Shivarna i beat her :) I really enjoyed self defence and learning to use my voice to be listened to in situations. I found it difficult to not laugh whilst looking at my friend, as we had to try be angry towards each other I found it easy to do the kicks we learnt.

Cyber safety with Luke.TK

Luke and I have spent all morning working on our cyber smart slide. WALT: what I wanted to learn today was a different style of communication skills, as I haven't done anything like this before. What I am proud of about this work is the way we managed to complete our work, without having talked to each other. Through this I have learnt that without being able to talk face to face you have to explain yourself really well otherwise it is hard to understand what they are trying to say.

I am most proud of this work as, this must do took a long time and a lot of research but i am happy with how it turned out.

This week I managed to learn alot about migration before this week I had no clue what migration was. After this must do i have found out alot about this and would be comfortable explaining it to somebody, I have found out many facts about my three chosen animals for example that Humpback whales migrate about 5000KM and that is one of the largest migratory journeys for a mammal.

My next step with this learning is i would like to see human migration in comparison to animal migration, or even comparing different animals and seeing if there is a connection.

My name is Dara, I am a year 8 student at gisborne intermediate school also known as gisint. My family includes me my sister my brother and my parents. I enjoy Football (soccer) and aerial silks, I have been playing football since the age of 5 and silks for over 2 years. My favourite subjects are P.E and writing. My favourite part about writing is free write when i can just write anything i think of. I am looking forward to when my sister comes back to visit. My biggest achievement would probably be making the federation team, this is a team of about 5 cities from our region and there is an under 13 team i didn't know anyone at the beginning but happened to make a lot of friends by the time the season came to an end.
